  • Founder & Teacher

Jessica Archibeque is a ceramic artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. After studying Sculpture & Ceramics at the University of New Mexico and working as a toy designer in Los Angeles, she returned home to open her own pottery studio. A passionate teacher, Jessica loves sharing her knowledge of both wheel throwing and handbuilding—often blending the two with sculptural details that celebrate both function and form.

I am a Fine Art graduate from the University of New Mexico, and an artist based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am a ceramic artist and oil painter. My main squeeze is ceramics, I put all my time and energy into making work I am proud of. The work I do in ceramics is mainly focused on functional ware, but I do sculpture as well. My intention is to create fun, playful work that evokes a free spirited approach to functional ware. I use graphic and bold images, unconventional elements for handles, and bright colors for my surface work.

My work stands out because of the unexpected elements in my work, such as banana handles, crystals, graphic imagery, and bright colors. These elements are used to provoke a rebellious approach to traditional ceramics. The inspirations for my work include but are not limited to human anatomy, nature, and pop art

My work has been featured in 2016 Velvet Minds exhibition at 5G Gallery in Albuquerque, NM, Penland Art Benefit Auction, Scholarship to Penland Summer Workshop 2014, Scholarship to Arrowmont School of Craft Sculptural Symposium 2018, and several University of New Mexico exhibitions. I have attended Penland Summer workshop with a scholarship for a Wood Firing class under Nick Schwartz, as well as a scholarship to Arrowmont School of Craft, Sculptural Symposium and attended three NCECA Conventions. My studio is based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico and I like to focus my efforts on gaining a strong sense of originality, and creative style.
