Frequently Asked Questions:
Classes
-
No. All classes and workshops must be booked in advance through our website, as space is limited and classes often fill up ahead of time. We offer scheduled classes for one-time classes and month long classes. If you are interested in a private lesson, please visit our Private Events page to request a custom day and time.
-
All classes, workshops, and memberships can be booked online through Cerámica’s website. Simply select the class or workshop you'd like to join and follow the checkout process to reserve your spot.
Once registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email with additional details about what to expect before class.
If you have trouble signing up or are unsure which class is the best fit, feel free to contact us and we’d be happy to help.
-
If you’re brand new to pottery, we recommend starting with one of our beginner-friendly one-time classes or Intro to Wheel classes. These classes are designed for all experience levels and focus on learning the fundamentals in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
If you’re looking for a fun date night or group activity, a one-time class is a great place to start. If you’re interested in building skills over time, we recommend our multi-week Intro to Wheel classes.
-
How far in advance should I sign up?
-
No — we are not a paint-your-own pottery studio. At Cerámica, classes focus on the process of making pottery by hand or on the wheel.
After class, we handle the glazing and firing process for your finished work.
There’s a lot of great studios you can visit to paint your own. Check out Roadrunner Arts Hub or Art Attack!
-
No experience is needed for most of our classes and workshops unless specifically stated in the class description. Beginners are always welcome.
-
Yes, all materials, tools, clay, glazing, and firing are included unless otherwise noted in the class description. Please bring in your own tools if you’d like!
-
Just wear clothes you’re comfortable getting a little muddy in. Clay washes out easily, but we recommend leaving valuable jewelry or smart watches at home.
You’re welcome to bring an apron if you’d like.
For wheel throwing classes, we also recommend keeping nails short if possible, as long or acrylic nails can make learning on the wheel more difficult.
-
Because our classes are small and prepared in advance, cancellations greatly impact our studio, teachers, and visiting artists. Please review the policies below before booking:

Frequently Asked Questions:
Memberships
-
Membership is intended for those who can work independently in a shared studio environment. We usually recommend taking Intro to Wheel at least twice before joining or if you have prior experience at another studio. If you are uncertain or still need instruction when it comes to glazing, we recommend taking more classes before as membership does not include instruction.
-
You can apply for membership through Cerámica’s website. Once an application is submitted, we will reach out as soon as a membership spot becomes available.
Please note:
Applying does not guarantee a membership spot.
Memberships are offered on a first come, first served basis.
Response times will vary depending on current studio availability and waitlist size.
If you are planning ahead and would like to know approximately how many people are ahead of you on the waitlist, please give us a call.
Because membership spots are limited, we are unable to hold spots for future start dates. If a membership is offered and you are unable to commit at that time, the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
Additionally, membership orientation is required before starting. Missing a scheduled orientation or being unable to attend may result in the spot being forfeited to the next person waiting.
We appreciate your understanding as we try to keep the process fair and accessible for everyone interested in joining the studio community.
