Underglaze Painting Coasters

With Sal Trevino

Coming in November

Join us for a special workshop with visiting artist Sal Treviño, who will be sharing his unique approach to underglazing. In this hands-on class, students will create their own set of coasters, either four or two, depending on the complexity of their design. You’re welcome to bring your own ideas, or choose from Sal’s “flash book” of imagery, which includes Kewpies, American traditional, Japanese traditional tattoo-inspired motifs, and even some ABQ-themed designs to celebrate our city’s culture. Along the way, Sal will guide you through tips and tricks for crisp linework, vibrant underglaze work, layering techniques, and the use of stencils to make detailed designs approachable even for beginners.
